Get ready folks, this is the second part of the O-talk podcast.
Once again, big thanks to the O-talk crew for putting up with my nublet ways. I gain a little more confidence in this one, and begin to reveal my true form.
Enjoy~

Some of you are already well aware but for those who aren’t, I was asked to be a guest on O-talk! This is very exciting but also nerve-wracking since I’m a pretty shy person and am not a pro public speaker by any means.
But the O-talk crew made me feel really welcome and I had a lot of fun! It’s a two part series about sexism in games and anime, the first part has just been released on Otaku Dan’s website.
I would really like to hear my reader’s views on the issues we brought up, what your favourite female characters are and how you feel about sexism in games an anime. Fujoshi are a peculiar group of women having many different orientations and interests, and I think we’re a pretty big part of the gaming scene without really being represented (although that has been changing in recent years – otome games boom anyone? Gay characters? Pretty boy options?) Cloud in a purple dress still haunts my fujoshi dreams~
A big thank-you goes out to Otaku Dan for inviting me on the show, and the crew for tolerating my newb ways~
There’s a lot of talk about the plan to release Silent Hill 2 and 3 HD on the playstation 3, including some pretty sour remarks about the change in voice actors. It’s an understandable position and also very annoying for long time fans not to have roles reprised by the original cast. With that said, I can only hope the HD version looks as good as the originals, and isn’t altered too far from the base game.
Konami being dicks about voice actor rights aside, Silent Hill 2 is a great game that deserves a new lease on life, or if you’re a dweeb like me, another play through on the PS2. The troubled protagonist and the enduring twists in the story are some of the best cinematic game storytelling around, and I challenge anyone to top the head fuckery in the hotel when you realise what James has been fighting for all this time.
There’s also a certain special person who made his debut in this game and changed the concept of ‘Raep tiem’ forever.
Yep, drum roll please.

It’s hard to talk about how shocking it was to see Pyramid Head when the game first came out, since he’s such a well known part of the Silent Hill franchise these days. But unless you were regularly watching David Lynch films, the extremely creepy imagery and eerie accompanying soundtrack caused instantaneous pants wetting…and let’s not forget about his immortality in the game.
With that said, it’s not terribly strange to imagine James getting the mannequin treatment by our darling Phead, and just how delicious that would be. Let’s just linger on that thought and enjoy it for a while.

And for the ultimate Phead experience, may I suggest crawling in a delicious, womb shaped flesh bag.
