Fandom Fap – Blue Exorcist : YAOI Round Up

Blue Exorcist is a manga by Kazue Kato that was recently turned into a televised anime series. It follows the plot of the typical shounen anime; our main character is a teenage boy who seems to be a screw up, but is actually the inheritor of a magical power. In this case, our intrepid hero is Rin Okumara who is actually the freaking son of Satan. And you know what that means, DEMONS. Lots of them!

Yes, this kind of show is what you’d expect me to like, and who am I to argue. It does fall a little short of Soul Eater, my current shounen anime favourite, but there’s plenty to enjoy. Including attractive male characters, extremely fun demon designs, and tons of exciting action. The art direction and character design really push what might have been a rather bland shounen anime into the realm of what is likely to be a long running, fun as hell (hurr hurr) classic.

With that said, what’s the best part of shounen anime for the fujoshi fan?

Mmm mm look at all those fine young men! Young, hot blooded teenagers of course, are the favoured drug of the YAOI fan and Pixiv has strived to represent them in all their glory.

There is a lot of brotherly love here, and I will have to say it’s likely that the brothers will be the focus for YAOI written and drawn. It’s usually not my bag, but I feel like their character is so charming and contrasting I can’t help but be attracted to them together.

That and I’m a filthy masochist. Oh the angst.

This pretty much makes me want to cry, I love Father Fujimoto and well…anyone who has watched the show knows how that ends.

I have no idea who that boy is, but I support whatever this pairing represents.

Blue Exorcist is running on Crunchy Roll right now, so check it out, and while you’re there think about writing some fanfics~ The fandom is off to a tiny start, but Pixiv is providing more and more each day. I can only hope fanfiction.net and others, start providing our western interpretation of the hot possible romances in the show.
